Trinidad and Tobago’s LNG producer Atlantic LNG has awarded a three-year contract to compatriot Massy Wood, a joint venture owned by the energy division of Massy and Wood.
Atlantic LNG’s CEO Ronald Adams signed the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreement with Massy Wood’s CEO Mala Baliraj, according to a short statement by Atlantic LNG issued on Tuesday.
The LNG producer said that this deal demonstrates its commitment to delivering “world-class performance and creating value for the organization, its stakeholders, and more broadly Trinidad and Tobago.”
Also, this collaboration enables end-to-end engineering to execution, resulting in “significant” efficiencies including resourcing, and cost competitiveness, it said.
Atlantic LNG did not provide further details regarding the deal.
According to its website, Massy Wood won a construction master services (MSA) contract back in 2013 from Atlantic LNG.
As per Atlantic LNG, Trinidad and Tobago signed in December lats year a restructuring deal with the shareholders of the LNG producer, Shell, BP, and the National Gas Company (NGC).
The Point Fortin facility features four trains with a total capacity of about 15 million tonnes per annum of LNG but the facility has been experiencing supply issues due to dwindling domestic gas reserves.
Atlantic LNG’s first train has been idled since 2020 due to reduced gas supplies.
