Italian owner Marnavi is expanding its fleet with two chemical tanker newbuildings in China.
The Naples-based shipping group has signed up for 13,000 dwt stainless steel duplex units at a shipyard in Zhoushan for about $30m each.
The first vessel is set for delivery by the end of 2026, with the second joining the fleet in early 2027.
“These newbuilds represent a significant step forward in our commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability, the company which currently counts 37 ships in its fleet said in a release.
The last time Marnavi ordered chemical tankers was in late 2017 when it signed up for a pair of 14,700 dwt newbuilds at China’s Wuchang Shipbuilding.
