UK-based Hayfin Capital Management has been linked to the acquisition of two capesize bulk carriers owned by Danish shipping giant Norden.
According to brokers, Nord Energy and Nord Power, built in 2012 at Hanjin Subic, have been sold for $32m each. The two vessels are scheduled for their next drydockings in early 2028.
This follows Norden’s sale of a one-year-old sister vessel, Nord Magnes, to Costamare in September for $31.5m, with that ship’s drydocking due at the end of next year.
Hayfin has made waves in the capesize segment throughout the year, having previously acquired four vessels: two 2009-built capes, along with a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old ship. The company has also been active in the shipbuilding sector this year.
