Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF has won multiple contracts in Brazil.
DOF-managed AHTS vessels Skandi Jupiter and Skandi Mercury, have been contracted by Petrobras to operate as AHTS 230t BP after the same competitive tender process earlier this year that led to the contract of Skandi Amazonas, Skandi Rio and Skandi Botafogo.
Both units are currently employed in the North Sea region and should mobilise to Brazil after modifications to comply with Petrobras requirements. The contracts are for three years plus options, starting by 2Q or 3Q 2025.
Meanwhile, a Brazilian-built and flagged MPSV Skandi Salvador was fixed to a an unnamed EPCI-SURF contractor for 180 days with extension options attached to support operations at Petrobras pre-salt fields developments. The vessel is currently operating for Petrobras at Libra with redelivery scheduled for the beginning of August. In the meantime, DOF’s vessel Geoholm will cover the contract.
In addition, the same contractor has also awarded a survey services contract on board of both vessels to DOF Subsea Brazil.
Mons S. Aase, CEO of DOF, said: “With Skandi Jupiter and Skandi Mercury we are expanding our fleet and further increasing our footprint in the AHTS segment in the region. With Salvador and survey services contracts we are expanding our client base and reinforcing our position on survey services in Brazil”.
Earlier this month, Oslo-listed DOF agreed to acquire Danish counterpart Maersk Supply Service in a $1.11bn cash and share deal, which will see 22 vessels added to its fleet. The deal did not cover Maersk Supply operations in Brazil.
