US shipping conglomerate Crowley has bolstered its harbour services through the acquisition of compatriot vessel mooring business Main Line.
The Florida-based company said the move would provide its customers calling on the ports of Seattle and Tacoma “with a comprehensive solution for their vessel mooring and ship assist needs”.
Seattle-based Main Line has been a long-time provider of vessel mooring services in the Pacific Northwest. The company’s staff will move to Crowley as part of the asset purchase agreement.
“The addition of vessel mooring to our harbour services product offering ensures the highest levels of coordination between the critical services of vessel mooring and ship assist. As a result, Crowley customers can have even more confidence their vessels will be docked and sailed without delay or incident,” said James Fowler, senior vice president and general manager, of Crowley Shipping.
Financial terms surrounding the deal were not disclosed.
