ENB Pub Note: People need to understand that the “Reciprical Tariffs” are exactly that – reciprocal. China and the EU are waking up to the fact that the United States is no longer their piggy bank to print money and offshore manufacturing and wealth to their countries. It may get slightly bumpy for a few months, but it will be better for everyone. The EU can grow up and defend their own lands, and I am more concerned about China’s control of the Panama Canal. By blocking the sale of Hong Kong-owned ports, China can also block traffic. That is in 100% violation of the treaty that President Carter sold the canal for $1. We will see a much more significant U.S. Military presence at our base very quickly in my opinion. So the tariffs are a “Right Sizing” and I agree with President Trump. – If you don’t want to pay the tariff, don’t buy crap from other countries. Build and buy U.S. companies and jobs.

We also need to end the ethanol subsidies to farmers in an organized fashion to grow more food in the U.S. rather than import it from other countries. That would save Americans Billions of dollars and focus on the food supply for Americans grown by Americans. Energy and Food Security start at home.

After US president Donald Trump imposed tariffs on countries across the world earlier this week, it did not take much time for Beijing to return the favor.

The Chinese authorities said on Friday that the country would impose 34% tariffs on all imports from the US starting from April 10. This is on top of the tariffs already in effect.

All cargo loaded on ships before April 10 are not subject to the new tariff if the cargo arrives before May 13.

The tariffs are identical to the ones the US imposed on China on Wednesday. Before that Trump added two tranches of 10% additional duties on all Chinese imports, effectively subjecting Chinese goods entering the US to 54% tariffs.

China’s State Council Tariff Commission explained that the recent moves made by the US were not “in line with international trade rules” and that they “seriously undermine China’s legitimate rights and interests “. The Commission described Trump’s tariff policies as “a typical unilateral bullying practice”.

The new tariffs by China was accompanied by adding 11 US companies to an “unreliable entity list” such as drone manufacturers.

Beijing also put export controls on an additional 16 US firms to prohibit the export of Chinese dual-use items.
