Raise Himachal govt share to 12 per cent in solar power projects, SJVN told

A committee would be constituted under the chairmanship of the chief secretary to monitor the execution of these power projects for their timely completion. 

Shimla: Chief ministerSukhvinder Singh Sukhuhas asked the Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Limited to increase the share of the state government in upcomingsolar power projectsup to 12%.

He said that a committee would be constituted under the chairmanship of the chief secretary to monitor the execution of these power projects for their timely completion.

Presiding over a meeting with senior officers of SJVN in Shimla on Friday, he said that the state government received a dividend of Rs 2,355 crore against equity contribution of Rs 1,055 crore and 12% free power from Nathpa Jhakri and Rampur hydro power projects, amounting to around Rs 7,000 crore so far.

He added that 22% additional power amounting to about Rs 4,200 crore had been obtained fromNathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station(NJHPS) at bus-bar rate.

He said a pilot plant for ‘Green Hydrogen‘ generation was underway at NJHPS, Jhakri while a solar module manufacturing plant would be set up by SJVN in Parwanoo.
