Norway’s Aker Solutions has signed a two-year contract extension for maintenance and modifications work for compatriot oil and gas firm Aker BP.
The contract covers the operated field centres offshore Norway – Valhall and Hod, Ula and Tambar, and Alvheim and Skarv.
Aker Solutions and Aker BP work under a joint maintenance and modifications alliance model. The existing frame agreement has been extended for a fixed period of two years, from December 2024 to December 2026. An option to extend for an additional two years will be formalized subject to the approval of Aker BP’s license partners.
The alliance ensures a significant proportion of local deliveries, generating activity and employment opportunities in locations such as Mo i Rana, Sandnessjøen, Egersund, Stavanger, and a range of offshore sites. In addition, Aker Solutions in Mumbai will make key contributions to engineering and project management within the alliance.
Aker Solutions considers the award as sizeable, meaning the contract value is between $45m and $135m. The deal will be booked in the fourth quarter of 2024 in the life cycle segment.
