Infosys has come a long way in building renewable energy assets, with the share of renewables in its electricity consumption surging to 57.9% at the end of 2022-23 from 43.7% five years ago and 22% a decade ago.
The company’s latest ESG Report 2022-23 throws light on the company’s various initiatives and its progress on environment, social and governance in the past year.
The company has a total installed capacity of 60 MW in solar, including the 40 MW captive plant at Sira in Tumakuru district. It also has 14.4 MW of rooftop panels at its offices across the country as well as ground-mount panels.
Apart from its own investments in renewables, Infosys buys green energy from third-party producers. Its Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar facilities source renewable energy using the green tariff mechanism available to commercial and industrial consumers.
